FRENCH DRAG CABARET
Since 1946
Madame Arthur is the iconic Parisian venue. It was in memory of Yvette Guilbert, with her eponymous song, that the Madame Arthur cabaret opened in the neighboring building in 1946. It’s a place where stars such as Bambi and Coccinelle have performed.
Quickly, it became the place to be for the new generation of drag artists. The European focal place for trans people willing to transition also finding a community to exchange advice with Madame Arthur’s artists.
Lasting until 2010, Madame Arthur reopened in 2015. A new bunch of artists is casted, from every gender, showing off the historical musical artistry, which turns around live singing and piano performances. It’s a success story and became a legend of French musical drag-cabaret.
